I spent Labor Day weekend in Mexico City and wanted to visit the Pyramids of the Sun, north of Mexico City. It is quite a drive so be prepared. I took an Uber all the way there and it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach, without traffic. Before we went to the pyramids, my aunt and I had made reservations in the cutest little cave restaurant called "La Gruta". It is walking distance to the entrance of the Sun Pyramids. The experience of eating inside the cave was pretty nice. The staff was great and the scenery is also aesthetically pleasing. Definitely a great experience.
As for the food... I can't say the same. First I ordered "café de la olla" which is a traditional Mexican coffee infused with spices and a strong flavor and aroma. That was really good. Then, we ordered tamales, mole, and stuffed Chile poblano. It was not our favorite place to eat. Probably, it was our least favorite place in the entire trip when it comes to the actual food.
I still would recommend to visit! The experience is great!
Sincerely,
Memeliette
